Maiden Spirit is dedicated to cultivate what we believe will help restore harmony to a world that is out of balance. We promote appreciation of and access to the universal principles and skills that arise out of the Sacred Feminine. Maiden Spirit is a community for girls and women dedicated to this cultural and planetary transformation through spiritual awakening and creative expression.

Maiden Spirit is an after school/weekend program for girls ages nine to fourteen, offering holistic learning through dance, song, story, and art. We meet once per month, September through June and follow an established curriculum. Communication between parent/mother/daughter/family is requested through monthly home assignments. Maiden Spirit encourages girls to think critically about the limiting and destructive messages to which they are exposed in the media. Maiden Spirit prepares girls for a conscious rite-of-passage through Menarche/First Moon into womanhood.

In addition to our youth program, we offer a Maiden Spirit teachers training.

ABOUT THE TRAINING
The Wise Woman Leadership training has been designed for women who feel a calling to become mentors and deliver the Maiden Spirit program to their communities. Some women participate in this training to experience personal evolution and adapt the wisdom teachings and skill development to other spheres of leadership in their lives.

The training provides participants with a supportive learning environment to do the inner work necessary to embody the Wise Woman archetype more fully, practice skills of inspired leadership as well as embody the Maiden Spirit curriculum. At the heart of the training, each woman will experience a rite of passage for the girl within.

PRACTICAL MYSTERY SCHOOL MANUEL
Upon completion, mentors become certified Maiden Spirit facilitators with access to teaching materials, logo, coaching plus support and resource sharing with mentor’s community. The materials include an in depth MS mentors guide book as well as a comprehensive lesson plan spanning 4 years of the Maiden Spirit curriculum for girls.

MENTORSHIP SKILLS
During the training participants will learn to embody skills of inspired leadership:

Lead a girls circle under supervision

• Deepen capacity to combine structuring skills of the analytical mind with intuitive information of heart and soul.
• Practice Embodied Feminine Spirituality
• Practice the Art Of Ritual
• Facilitate Holistic Education integrating knowledge through all the senses using song, story, dance and art
• Deliver wisdom and empowerment skillfully and inspirationally

Trainings are held by MS founder Georgette Star, M.A.D.Min. with MS master teacher Melissa Shaw

THE PROGRAM
The next mentorship trainings will be offered in Portland, Oregon and Petaluma, California and will take place one weekend per month from October 09 through June of 2010. The training consists of an intellectual component with reading assignments and presentations, group processes as well as a supervised practicum. Each training will be limited to six participants. Admission to the training is by application and applications are now available.
